The Austbrokers Network was established in 1985 to give individual General Insurance brokers the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a larger group, yet still maintain that all important feel of independence.

To achieve this, Austbrokers have acquired equity in selected insurance broking and financial services businesses, leaving their local identity with the original owner maintaining the management of the business. This balance allows the individual firms enjoy all the advantages of being part of a major group, yet still maintain the best business incentive there is - being one's own boss.

With a total turnover of over $711 million in general insurance premiums, over $32 million in new Life Risk and Accumulation premiums, and in excess of $100 million in assets under management, the Austbrokers Network ranks not only within the top 3 insurance broking groups in Australia, but is also a major Financial Services provider.

The 34 equity brokers employ over 900 people in more than 80 locations right across the country. Over 175,000 clients benefit from the financial strengths of the group while also enjoying the personal and local service of each Austbrokers office.

AND...with the continuing success of the Life & Financial Services Strategy, implemented some years ago with the equity partners, the accelerated growth of the Austbrokers organisation is set to continue.

While the individual companies work on the day to day business providing clients with personal local service, the Ausbrokers Management Team works with the equity principals on the overall management and direction of the business. The team helps provide the resources to build long term growth and profitability.
